Last Friday, I enjoyed a great night out with some of my bestest buddies! I know Close To My Heart knows how to put on a good event, and the St. Louis Making Connections meeting was no exception. This was a great time for of LEARNING, CREATIVITY & COMMUNITY!
LEARNING
The keynote address was given by Chief Communications Offer, Monica Wihongi. Her message about choosing to be happy was exactly what I needed to hear. The last few months have been pretty challenging for me medically and recently I have to admit that I’ve let the circumstances get me down. Monica gave us lots to think about plus some great action steps to become more positive and choose happiness regardless of circumstances.
CREATIVITY
Following her address, we were given supplies to complete two projects. The first is this layout which is primarily made with solid cardstock. Detail is added with the My Acrylix stamp set In Review (C1622), the Glacier Fundamental Assortment (Z3102) and Designer Creations Mini Frames (Z2029).
Our second project was album pages for a daily Christmas book using the White Pines Picture My Life program. This pack includes a variety of Christmas themed cards including one for each day in December leading up to Christmas.
For our project, we made the cover and opening pages shown below and were given examples of how to use the remaining cards with the divided memory protectors. Pictures and memory notes can be mixed with the cards to create a book that celebrates the special and everyday events of the holiday season.
COMMUNITY
One of my favorite things about any Close To My Heart event is the opportunity to see friends and make new ones. It was really special because three of my team members attended with me!
Toward the end of the event, we celebrated the accomplishments of those in attendance. I was super surprised to win a prize for the most recruits in the prior quarter. As an aware I was given this beautiful layout created by the amazing Close To My Heart artists.
A few more awards were given out as well as door prizes. We also had a chance to buy event exclusive Base & Bling stickers with the proceeds going to Operation Smile.
Since our event was fairly small, it felt more intimate and cozy. Here’s a picture of our group.
Thank you Close To My Heart for coming to St. Louis!
Events such as this are one of the reasons I love being a Close To My Heart consultant. If you are interested in learning how you can be a part of this special company, please let me know. I’d love to talk with you!
